Falmouth Oyster Festival has been running for almost 30 years, celebrating the start of the native oyster season and the traditions behind it. This year, St Michaels Resort helps us take that celebration beyond Events Square, with three events set against the backdrop of the bay.

Oyster Opening Night with Veuve ClicquotWednesday 7 October, 6.30pm

Kick off festival weekend in style. Enjoy freshly shucked Cornish oysters, Veuve Clicquot Champagne and St Michael’s own take on fish and chips, all overlooking Falmouth Bay. A local oyster fisherman will share stories of the waters and traditions behind the native Fal oyster, with live music adding to the relaxed seaside evening.

Seafood FeastSaturday 10 October, 6.30pm

Celebrate with a generous feast inspired by Cornwall’s coast. St Michael’s chefs will showcase the best of locally landed seafood, from Falmouth’s famous native oysters to beautifully prepared fish and shellfish, with fresh Cornish flavours taking centre stage.

Sea Shanty Sunday LunchSunday 11 October, 12pm

Round off the festival with a relaxed, banquet-style Sunday lunch of half-roasted chicken, beef brisket and Longhorn sirloin, served with all the traditional trimmings, and accompanied by the lively sounds of sea shanties.

Chef Jordan Wilkes takes to the main stage

Alongside these three events, St Michaels Resort’s own chef Jordan Wilkes is joining our line-up of chef demonstrations on the main stage in Events Square at 2pm on Saturday 10 October. Come and watch Jordan in action and pick up some tips of your own.

Nigel Carpenter, owner of St Michaels Resort, said: “Falmouth Oyster Festival is such a wonderful celebration of our town, our waters and the incredible produce that comes from them, so we’re delighted to be partnering with the festival this year. We’re excited to be offering new experiences at St Michael’s, joining the wider festival celebrations.”
